UPSIDEDOWN is a control panel with nobody at the controls.
Every day you flip switches without looking: lights, locks, silent mode, settings. Thousands of tiny on/off decisions.
I took that gesture, turned the interface upside down, and let the switches run the show.
Each output is a wall of capsules, tiles and blocks on a 2400×3200 canvas. Inside every one lives a single dot. Some dots slide end to end, throwing their own switch again and again. Others run laps along the inside edge of their track. No dot waits for its neighbour, and yet the wall moves as one body: either a wave rolling across the canvas or a crowd of switches each keeping its own time.
Then the rules start to bend. Tracks sit inside tracks. Some blocks stay deliberately empty, quiet gaps in the noise. Switches line up, split into on and off, or drift free. One accent colour is held back for a single moment: one dot, one block, or a few small tiles. Backgrounds run from paper white to near black to loud red and yellow, and every dot is checked so it stays visible on its track.
I didn't draw a thousand pieces. I built a machine and wrote its rules, and the token hash flips the switches that decide what each output becomes: layout, density, margins, corners, colour, rhythm.
Some outputs are calm and spaced like a gallery wall. Others pack in hundreds of tiny dials that never stop moving.
Watch one for a minute and you'll catch yourself waiting for it to settle. It doesn't. UPSIDEDOWN is what an interface looks like when nobody is using it.
