This project begins with two influences: 1) Agnes Martin's ruled grids, lined, never filled; and 2) Damien Hirst's colored spots, every one its own hue. Each work is a field of modules on a black or white ground, and the field is never quite still—every module flickers at its own cadence, never in unison. • The colors are hex values, drawn from the 16 million a screen can produce. No generated color repeats—not within a field, and not anywhere across the 880 outputs. Black, white, and the gray of the rules are the exceptions: they are compositional structure rather than generated color, and recur throughout. • Each module blinks off for a fraction of a second and returns, then waits its own interval before the next. Because every module keeps its own time, the field never blinks as a whole. Nothing moves for the first six seconds after load, so the still image of a work is always the complete field fully lit. • The work redraws itself at any size, orientation, or pixel density. These are not simply regular, repeating structures—they are grids that reward watching.
